Overview
Mudanya is a low-key port town on the Sea of Marmara, best known as the place where the 1922 Armistice was signed ending the Turkish War of Independence. Most travelers pass through on the ferry between Istanbul and Bursa, but the town has enough Ottoman architecture, quiet seafront walks, and nearby Greek heritage villages (Tirilye) to fill a half-day stop.
