Overview
Mossel Bay is a small harbour town on the Garden Route in South Africa's Western Cape, known as the 'Bay of Attraction'. It holds historical significance as the place where the first Europeans set foot on southern African shores, commemorated at the Dias Museum Complex.

Whale watching season runs June to mid-November. Skydiving, sailing, boat rides to seal island, and hiking trails are available.

Walkable city centre but a car is recommended for reaching outside attractions and restaurants. Limited public transport options.
Weather
Summer (December-February) is peak holiday season when beaches are packed solid. Winter offers 22 degree temperatures with fewer crowds and whale watching from June to mid-November.
