Transport
Flights from Naha run twice daily (70 min, ¥31,600 roundtrip). The weekly ferry takes 15-17 hours (¥10,000 roundtrip). The flight to Kitadaito is Japan's shortest at just 3 minutes.
Weather
Subtropical climate with typhoon season in summer. Whale-watching best in winter. The Honen Festival occurs September 22-23.
