Overview
Mianyang is the second largest prefecture-level city in Sichuan Province, with a population of 4.9 million as of 2022. The city serves as a major science and technology hub (home to China's largest weapons research facility where the first atomic bomb was built), while offering access to natural attractions including the Beichuan Qiangcheng Tourism Zone, Wanglang National Nature Reserve with giant pandas, and historic sites linked to Tang Dynasty poet Li Bai.
