Overview

Marree is a ghost town of roughly 70 people in the South Australian outback, sitting at the junction of the Birdsville and Oodnadatta Tracks. Founded in the mid-1800s when springs were discovered, the town boomed with the arrival of the railway in 1883 and served as a stop for the famous Ghan passenger train.
