Overview
Marmara Island is the largest of the Marmara Islands in Turkey's Southern Marmara Region, offering a quieter alternative to the busier Aegean islands. The island's name literally means 'marble' in Greek, and its quarries supplied stone for Hagia Sophia in Istanbul.
