Safety
Maiduguri is the epicenter of the Boko Haram insurgency. Travel outside city limits is forbidden for most foreigners. Curfew at 11PM. Accommodation with armed security recommended.
Transport
Maiduguri International Airport has domestic flights from Lagos via Abuja. ABC Transport offers overnight buses from Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and daytime buses from Kano and Jos.
Weather
Hot semi-arid climate. Wet season May-October (peak rainfall August 229mm). Dry season November-April is cooler but dusty. Hottest month May at 41°C.
