Overview

Lieksa sits at the eastern shore of Lake Pielinen in North Karelia, offering access to some of Europe's last remaining primeval taiga forests. The wild landscape along the Russian border provides a remote, uncrowded destination for hiking, berry picking, mushroom hunting, and wildlife watching—far from Finland's tourist hotspots.
