Overview
Liberec sits at the foot of Ještěd mountain in the Jizera Mountains, offering a slower alternative to Prague with Art Nouveau architecture, a distinctive hyperboloid tower hotel on the summit, and excellent access to Nordic-style nature. The city was historically a German textile capital (Reichenberg), evidenced in its Liebig's town Art Nouveau apartment colony built for factory workers.
