Overview
Leeuwin-Naturaliste National Park offers a rare combination of dramatic coastal scenery, ancient limestone caves, and one of Australia's premier long-distance walking trails. Located just 270 km south of Perth, the park features rugged granite headlands, pristine beaches, and over 100 discovered caves ranging from narrow tunnels to vast underground systems.

Before you go
Accommodation
Free bush campsites spaced 20-25 km apart along Cape to Cape Track. Commercial campgrounds in Yallingup, Smiths Beach, Gracetown, Prevelly, and Hamelin Bay. Point Road and Contos National Park campsites available.
Safety
Carry a Personal Locator Beacon as mobile reception is absent on most of the Cape to Cape Track. Bring minimum 2 L water daily per person in summer. Open fires prohibited throughout.
Transport
The park is 270 km south of Perth via Bussell Highway. No direct public transport; self-drive or tours required. Caves Road provides access to cave sites and trailheads.
Water
Water along the Cape to Cape Track is limited and often non-potable. Free campsites have water tanks. Carry sufficient drinking water—minimum 2 L per person daily, potentially double in summer heat.
Weather
Summer brings extreme UV radiation requiring protective measures. Winter and spring (June-October) offer whale watching opportunities. Check bushfire conditions before visiting.
