Overview
Lalsk is a tiny, historic market town in the far north of Kirov Oblast where the Totma architectural tradition met the Vyatka tradition, creating a unique northern baroque style perfectly preserved for modern tourists. With only 2,900 residents and virtually no tourists, this is well off the beaten path—the town looks practically unchanged since the 19th century, offering a rare glimpse of authentic Russian North architecture far from the typical Golden Ring circuit.
