Overview
Koroni is a small Venetian village on the Messinian gulf with a partly ruined castle, sheltered harbor, and excellent waterfront tavernas. The area is known for olive oil, fresh fish, and sandy beaches—one beach is a turtle nesting site.

Zaga Beach has loungers/umbrellas for €6 (basic umbrellas for €5 without toilet access). Memi Beach offers windsurfing rentals and lessons. One beach is a turtle nesting site.

Euro (€) is the local currency. Banks with ATMs include National Bank of Greece and Agricultural Bank. Operating hours are Monday-Thursday 0800-1430, Friday 0800-1400.
Transport
Koroni is best explored on foot. Motorbike and car rental available locally. Taxis serve the area. Kalamata airport is about 45 minutes drive away.
Weather
Peak summer (late July-August) is very hot and crowded—book accommodation in advance. Spring (March-May) offers warm temperatures and wildflowers. September has warm seas with fewer tourists.
