Overview
Kokand is a historic Silk Road trading city on the southwestern edge of the Ferghana Valley in Uzbekistan, with at least a thousand years of history. The city was the capital of the Kokand Kanate from 1709 to 1876, which at its height controlled parts of four modern countries.
