Overview
Kizhi is a UNESCO World Heritage island in Lake Onega, 68 km from Petrozavodsk, showcasing the finest wooden architecture in Russia. The centerpiece is the 22-domed Church of the Transfiguration at 37 m high, built entirely of wood in the 18th century without a single nail.

Russian rubles (RUB) accepted. Souvenirs and food available on island; bring sufficient cash as card acceptance uncertain.

Smoking completely prohibited island-wide. No designated smoking areas exist.
Transport
Hydrofoils ("Meteor", "Kometa") depart from Petrozavodsk. Only 4-hour visit window (12:00-16:00).
