Overview
Khao Yai National Park is Thailand's first national park, established in 1962, and the third largest in the country. In 2005, the park along with the surrounding Dong Phaya Yen mountains was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site.

Connectivity
Visitor centre has basic services. No petrol stations in park. Stock up before entering.
Fees
Foreign adults pay 400 baht (2022), motorcycles 30 baht, cars 50 baht. Pay each day of entry; same-day re-entry is free.
Food
Limited food options inside park. Stalls and restaurant at Zone 1 close by 18:00. Bring water and snacks.
Safety
Do not swim in rivers or waterfalls—crocodile risk. Trails are one-way and easy to get lost on. Bring leech socks for jungle hiking.
Transport
Rent a car or motorbike in Pak Chong for easiest park access. Buses go only to ticket office, 10 km from visitor centre.
Weather
Year-round average of 23°C. Best hiking weather November-February. Rainy season May-October with high humidity.
