Overview
Kakching is a commercial hub of 32,000 people in Manipur's Imphal Valley, known as the Rice Bowl or Granary of Manipur for producing the state's highest percentage of food grains. The town was declared the Cleanest City in North East India in 2018 and offers visitors authentic Meitei cultural experiences including traditional martial arts, dance forms, and the grand Kakching Haraoba festival.
