Overview
Kaitaia serves as the practical gateway to the Far Far North, being the largest town (6,000 residents) in the region and the last settlement of any size before Cape Reinga. The town sits 13 km south of Ninety Mile Beach's southern end at Ahipara, making it an ideal base for exploring one of New Zealand's most remote stretches of coastline.
