Safety
The island feels very safe with minimal reported incidents. Septic sewage is common but doesn't affect beach water quality.
Transport
Tuk-tuks dominate island transport charging per person. Boats to Coyolito depart frequently (L15-20). The 18 km island road is walkable for fit travelers.
Weather
Rainy season (May-October) brings daily blackouts before afternoon storms. Weekends attract more visitors from Tegucigalpa.
