The Bara burial caves within the park are sacred sites. Visitors should maintain respectful distance and follow guide instructions regarding photography and behavior at these locations.

Most transactions in Ranohira are in Malagasy Ariary (Ar). Isalo Rock Lodge accepts visa cards. Carry cash for park fees, guides, and local purchases.
Packing
Bring substantial water supplies, sun protection, and sturdy walking shoes. The terrain is rocky and uneven. A headlamp is useful for early morning departures.
Transport
Taxi brousse minibuses connect Ranohira with Fianarantsoa, Ambalavao, and Ihosy. The road conditions can be rough; journey times are longer than distances suggest.
