Innamincka is one of Australia's most remote outback destinations, home to just 15 residents in the vast Strzelecki/Outback region of South Australia. It's one of only two places in Australia offering airboat experiences (alongside Kakadu), with no crocodiles to worry about.

Connectivity
Only Telstra offers 4G coverage within 7km of Innamincka. All other providers have no coverage. Satellite phones are essential for remote travel.
Culture
Innamincka is an Aboriginal community home to Yawarrawarrka and Yandruwandha people. Respect cultural sites and private land boundaries.
Fuel
Innamincka has two servos (as of March 2021) — the only shops in town. The closest fuel stop after Innamincka is 465km away. Always fuel up before departing.
Health
The Royal Flying Doctor Service maintains a clinic with two permanent staff in Innamincka and can arrange emergency flights to hospitals if needed.
Safety
No crocodiles (salties) in the area — airboat tours are safe. However, the extreme remoteness means preparation for emergencies is essential.
Transport
All access routes require high-clearance 4WD vehicles. Roads can become impassable after heavy rain, potentially trapping visitors for days.
Water
Drinking water is available at the town square for a small fee, but the machine requires a QR code from a mobile phone — no cash or credit cards accepted.
