Huntsville is very car-oriented with no rail transit. Rideshares and taxis are needed for airport transfers and reaching attractions outside downtown.

Summers are hot and humid (heat indices up to 107°F) with afternoon thunderstorms. Tornado season peaks in spring and November-December. Winters are mild with occasional light snow.
