Before you go
Accommodation
No lodging exists in the park. Stay in Jiuzhaigou Town or Huanglong town for early access. Book accommodations in advance during peak season (Apr-Nov).
Health
High altitude (3,000-3,650 m) requires acclimatization. Pace yourself, stay hydrated, and bring medication for altitude sickness if susceptible.
Money
Park entrance is ¥200 (peak season) or ¥60 (off-season). Bring cash as card acceptance is limited. Budget extra for cable car (¥80 one-way) and overpriced food inside.
Packing
Bring warm layers regardless of season, comfortable hiking shoes, sun protection, and more water/snacks than you think you'll need as prices increase with elevation.
Transport
Take the 07:00 bus from Jiuzhaigou Bus Station (¥40, 3-4 hours) or arrange a taxi for ¥400 roundtrip. Combine with airport transfer for efficiency.
