Before you go
Money
Denmark uses Danish Krone (DKK). Credit cards are widely accepted throughout Denmark. ATMs are available in Tønder for cash withdrawal.
Transport
Højer has no train station; the nearest rail connections are in Tønder or Skærbæk. Regional buses serve the town, but a car is convenient for exploring the wider marsh area.
Water
The Wadden Sea has dangerous tides—never walk on the mudflats without checking times and local advice. Storm surges can cause flooding.
Weather
The Wadden Sea area can be windy year-round. Bring layers and windproof clothing even in summer. The marsh landscape is flat with little natural shelter.
