Overview

Two hotels in town: Hotel Concordia (M$600, central courtyard style) and Hotel Real la Plata (basic, near bus station). Reservations recommended at Concordia.
Culture
May 3 and December 12 festivals feature matachine dances by Tarahamura indigenous people. Dress modestly during religious events.
Food
Comedor Licha is the only sit-down restaurant; otherwise rely on street food vendors. Tacos la Calerita opens weekends 8:30-midnight.

Prices quoted in Mexican pesos (M$). Cash preferred for small purchases; card may work at Hotel Concordia but not universally accepted.
Transport
Valle del Guadiana runs 2 daily buses between Guanaceví and Durango (5 hours, M$450). Driving takes 4.5 hours via MEX 45 and MEX 23.
