Grand Beach is Manitoba's premier lakeside park, drawing thousands of visitors to its fine white sand beaches and impressive 12-metre high dunes. Since the Canadian Northern Railway established an excursion line in the early 20th century, this has been a beloved summer retreat.

Before you go
Accommodation
350-site campground with basic ($11.55-23.10/day) and electrical ($15.75-27.30/day) options. Book seasonal sites in advance; casual sites first-come.
Food
Food vendors present in peak season but limited. Stock up in Winnipeg or nearby towns before arriving.
Safety
No lifeguards on beaches. Dangerous currents in the channel between beaches—swimming prohibited there. Use sheltered lagoon for water sports.
Transport
No public transit to the park. Drive from Winnipeg (80 km north on PTH 59, then 6 km west on PTH 12). Vehicle entry fee $5/day or $12/3 days.
Weather
Summer is peak season (20-25°C). Winter brings snowmobiling and cross-country skiing. Bring sunscreen, insect repellent, and long pants for trails.
