Overview
Gebze is a sprawling industrial city in Eastern Marmara, 65 km east of Istanbul, with a 2020 population of 392,945. Historically known as Dakibyza or Libyssa in the Kingdom of Bithynia, it sits on major trade routes overland from the east and by sea from the west.
