Overview
Gander is a small town of 12,000 people on the Trans-Canada Highway in Central Newfoundland, best known for its major international airport (YQX). The town gained worldwide fame for its generosity during the September 11, 2001 attacks when it accepted more diverted passengers than any Canadian airfield except Halifax and Vancouver.
