Overview

Fushun is a prefecture-level city in eastern Liaoning Province that served as the capital of the Late Jin Dynasty founded by Nurhachu in 1616, which later became the Qing Dynasty of China. The nearby Xing City (Hetu Ala) and Yongling Tomb are UNESCO World Heritage sites preserving authentic Manchurian architecture and royal burial traditions.

Lei Feng's military career city with a dedicated memorial hall. Traditional Manchu culture is preserved in Xinbin Manchu Autonomous County with unique architecture, customs, and crafts including deer musk and cashmere products.

History

Fushun was the former capital of the Late Jin Dynasty (1616), which became China's Qing Dynasty. Nearby UNESCO sites include Xing City (Hetu Ala) and Yongling Tomb preserving authentic Manchurian heritage.

Industry

Known as the 'Coal Capital of China' with the largest open-cast coal mine in Asia. The city developed heavy industry including China's first non-ferrous metal plant and now the largest petrochemical producer in China.

Safety

Industrial pollution has been addressed since 2001. Major tourist sites are well-maintained. General urban safety precautions apply.

Transport

Two bus stations near the North and South train stations serve city routes. Buses to UNESCO heritage sites depart Fushun South every 30 minutes 7:30AM-4:30PM, fare ¥16. Shenyang is accessible by bus from railway stations (¥10).
