Overview
Föhr is the largest of the German North Frisian Islands without road or rail access, offering a tranquil alternative to the more developed Sylt. The island spans approximately 82 km² and is home to 8,250 residents (2017), with its main attraction being the 12-kilometer sand beach along the southern shore.

Föhr uses the Euro (€). ATMs and credit cards are accepted at most hotels, restaurants, and shops in Wyk and larger villages.
Transport
Föhr is accessible only by ferry (Wyk Ferry Port) or small aircraft via Flugplatz Wyk airstrip with connections to Sylt, Husum, and Flensburg.
Weather
Oceanic climate with moderate winters and cool summers. Best visited May-September for beach activities and outdoor sightseeing.
