Overview
Sylt is Germany's premier beach destination and its most exclusive island, featuring a 40-km white sand beach backed by dunes on the western North Sea side, with mudflats exposed on the eastern side at low tide. The island has been a meeting place for German high society since the 1920s, with wealthy Germans maintaining holiday homes, giving Kampen in particular an air of exclusivity.
