Overview
Faridpur is one of the oldest cities in Bangladesh, established as Fatehabad in the 15th century and renamed in the 19th century after Sufi Saint Shah Fariduddin Masud. The city sits on the banks of the Padma River and serves as a transportation junction for South Bangladesh.
