Overview
Ergani is a historically rich district city in Southeastern Anatolia, home to Çayönü — the first recorded ancient city in the region, dating back 8000 years. While the historic Ergani Castle no longer stands, the region preserves scattered historical heritage including ancient tombs, churches, and caves.

Transport
Buses from Diyarbakır cost ~150 TL (1 hour). Train via Kurtalan Express is 48 TL (1.5 hours). Station is outside centre.
