Overview
Enez is a sleepy border town that few tourists reach, making it an authentic Turkish Aegean experience. The town combines ancient history (Ainos was mentioned in Virgil's Iliad), a fortress with views into Greece, and wetlands teeming with flamingos.

ATMs are available in the town centre. Migros supermarket only operates during summer months.
Safety
Avoid the river and border areas—guards assume anyone near the water is attempting illegal crossing. Bring mosquito repellent for delta swamps. Watch for sea urchins when swimming.
Transport
Dolmuşes run every couple of hours connecting the three parts of town over 5 km. The nearest border crossing to Greece is at Ipsala via Keşan.
Weather
Beach strip swells to 6000 visitors June-August but empties nearly completely in winter. Summer is peak season; bring layers for cooler evenings.
