Overview
El Gogorron National Park preserves 36,500 hectares of the Sierra San Miguelito, a sub-range of the Sierra Madre Oriental. Located over 6,000 feet elevation, the park offers a cooler, more temperate climate than surrounding lowlands.

Regional drought conditions have affected the park. Parts suffered wildfires in April 2024 and remain closed to visitors. Check current conditions before planning your visit.
Transport
Vehicle access from San Luis Potosi or Real de Catorce. No public transit directly to park. Rent car or arrange private transport for flexibility.
Weather
High at over 6,000 feet with temperate climate. Best months are April to early June. Rain most likely June-September. Winter temperatures rarely drop below 4C.
