Beach
Dark volcanic sand beaches can become very hot in afternoon sun. The sand ranges from light gray to dark black with seashell flecks.
Nightlife
For major nightlife, visit Ave. Roosevelt in San Miguel, which hosts Central America's biggest carnival in November.
Transport
Buses from San Miguel run every 30 minutes, taking 90 minutes for US$2. Taxis cost approximately $30 for the same route.
