El Salvador uses the US dollar as official currency. Most hotels, restaurants, and shops accept cash and cards. ATMs are available in the city center and near Metrocentro.
Nightlife
Ave. Roosevelt in San Miguel has numerous bars and clubs open until early morning hours. November hosts the biggest carnival in Central America.
Transport
Local buses connect San Miguel to nearby beaches like El Cuco (1 hour) and onward to other destinations. Taxis are available for beaches not served by bus routes.
Weather
San Miguel has warm weather year-round with subtle variations. The dry season from November to April offers the best conditions for beach activities and outdoor exploration.
