Overview
Duque de Caxias (commonly called Caxias) is the most populous municipality in Baixada Fluminense, serving as a commercial and industrial center for the 13 municipalities of this portion of greater Rio de Janeiro. The city is notable for hosting the REDUC oil refinery, the third largest owned by Petrobras in Brazil.
