Overview
Dongyin is Taiwan's northernmost inhabited island, a remote frontier post with dramatic sea-carved landscapes and Cold War-era military infrastructure. The island offers a stark, windswept atmosphere unlike Taiwan's main tourist destinations: erosion-formed cliffs like Yixiantian ("Thread of Sky"), Suicide Cliff's tragic legend, and tunnel complexes like Andong Tunnel with 640 meters of underground passages, dormitories, and viewing platforms.
