Certification
These sites require qualified scuba divers. Open Water certification minimum; many sites recommend Advanced Open Water or higher due to depth and conditions.
Conditions
Water temperature 14-20°C. Visibility varies from 2-15m depending on season and site. Strong currents possible at offshore sites. Some areas within Marine Protected Zones requiring permits.
Equipment
Full scuba gear required. Dive charter boats available from Simon's Town, Kalk Bay, and Fish Hoek harbors for boat dives. Shore dives available at locations like Long Beach (Simon's Town) and Sunny Cove.
