Overview

Culebra is a 5-by-7-mile Caribbean island nature preserve lying 20 miles east of Puerto Rico and 12 miles west of Saint Thomas. The island was used as a US Navy bombing range for much of the 20th century, and development has been slow and recent, leaving it mostly wooded and spectacularly uncrowded.
