Overview
Cross River National Park is Nigeria's largest protected rainforest area, covering approximately 4,000 km² of primary moist tropical forest. The park protects critical habitat for endangered western gorillas and vulnerable common chimpanzees, making it one of West Africa's most significant biodiversity hotspots.

Transport
Drive approximately 1 hour from Calabar to Kanyang tourist village, the main park entrance. Internal transport via guided walks and safari vehicles.

Tropical-humid climate with 15-30°C temperatures and 1,300-3,000mm annual rainfall. Dry season (Nov-Mar) best for wildlife viewing.
