Overview
Courmayeur is a premier skiing and mountaineering resort at 1224m elevation in the head of Aosta Valley, northwest Italy, sitting at the foot of Mont Blanc (Monte Bianco). The resort is particularly strong for beginners and intermediates on blues and reds, with reliable snow due to its high altitude.

Connectivity
Italian mobile networks (TIM, Vodafone, Wind) provide coverage in town. WiFi available at hotels and some cafes on Via Roma.
Money
Italy uses the euro (€). Credit cards widely accepted in hotels and restaurants. Budget around €239 for a six-day ski pass (2018/19 rates).
Safety
Avalanche risk exists off-piste; fatal incidents are not uncommon. Expert guides essential for off-piste glacier descents. On 1 March 2017, three people were killed on an off-piste route into Val Veny.
Transport
Savda buses run every 30 min between Aosta and Courmayeur (1 hour). Direct buses to Chamonix run 6x daily, 45 min via Mont Blanc Tunnel.
Weather
High altitude (1224m town, ski slopes up to 2755m) means reliable snow in winter. Summer trekking available June-September.
