Overview
Colònia de Sant Jordi is a low-key resort town on Mallorca's southern coast, part of the municipality of Ses Salines. The town was a tiny fishing village laid out as a model farm (hence 'colonia') until 20th century tourism transformed it.

Safety
Standard tourist precautions apply. Beach areas are generally safe. Be cautious of boat traffic when swimming to offshore islets.
Transport
Bus 517 connects Colònia de Sant Jordi to Campos (20 min), where you can transfer to buses from Palma. The journey from Palma takes about 70 minutes total.
Water
The salt lagoons have vivid pink and orange hues from salt-tolerant plankton. Swimming to offshore islets is possible but watch for speedboats and jet-skis.
Weather
Peak beach season is summer (June-August). Late spring and early autumn offer pleasant weather with fewer crowds.
