Overview
Ciudad Obregón is Sonora's agricultural capital and second-largest city with around 450,000 people. Despite being less than 100 years old, it is a modern, vibrant city with excellent beef-centric cuisine including machaca, jerky, and burritos; the signature sweet snack is coyotas.

Presa Oviachic dam is the top outdoor destination 24km north for fishing, camping, and water sports. Laguna Del Nainari offers relaxed lakeside recreation.
Food
Beef is king here: machaca, jerky, tacos, and burritos are local staples. Coyotas are the signature sweet snack. Seafood is excellent at the Paredón estuary.
Transport
SUBA buses are the most reliable option at under M$15 per ride. Car rental requires being 25+, a valid license, and credit card.
