Overview
Chalcatzingo is one of Mexico's oldest archaeological sites, dating to around 1500 BC during the Formative Era. It represents one of the furthest settlements from the Olmec heartland on the Gulf Coast, making it crucial for understanding how Olmec culture spread and influenced Mesoamerican civilization.
