Overview
Chachoengsao (also called Paet Rio) is a low-key Thai town 80km east of Bangkok that draws thousands of pilgrims weekly to Wat Sothon, reputedly the largest wat in the world. The town sits along the Bang Pakong River and its canals, offering a glimpse of provincial Thai life far from tourist crowds.
