Overview
Ceiba is a quiet coastal town on Puerto Rico's eastern shore, positioned between Fajardo and Naguabo as a gateway to ferry services for Vieques and Culebra. The town sits on the former site of Roosevelt Roads Naval Station, one of the most strategic American bases in the Caribbean during World War II, which closed in 2004.

Ceiba State Forest is a protected mangrove ecosystem with marked hiking trails. Stay on trails for safety, and bring insect repellent. The forest is one of the largest mangroves in Puerto Rico.

A rental car is essential for exploring Ceiba and reaching nearby attractions like Ceiba State Forest and beaches. PR-3 and PR-53 connect Ceiba to Fajardo and other eastern coast towns.
