Overview

Castro Marim is a very old town founded before the Roman Empire, surrounded by hand-harvested sea salt and a Natural Park protected by the 1982 Ramsar Convention. Its medieval castle belonged to the Templary organization until 1356, making it a rare glimpse into Portugal's crusader past.
