Overview
Campione d'Italia is a 2km-long Italian exclave wedged inside Swiss Ticino, clinging to the shore of Lake Lugano. Its odd status means Swiss francs are the sole legal tender, Swiss phone/mail systems run here, and even firefighters and ambulances are Swiss — yet you're legally in Italy.
