Overview
Brzeg is a medieval town in Opole Voivodeship founded in the mid-13th century, situated roughly halfway between Wrocław (40 km west) and Opole (35 km east). The town is notable for Renaissance architecture, with the Castle of the Silesian Piasts often called the 'Silesian Wawel' and the 16th-century Town Hall described as one of Poland's most valuable Renaissance monuments.
